Our Products

Our range of materials is varied, but 80% of our business falls under non-ferrous metals and their alloys. Material comes from factories we work with on an on-going basis, rather than unknown suppliers, and we always advise the source.

The menu on the left will take you to the individual pages covering our main product lines in a bit more detail, as well as more general information on other items, which account for about 20% of our business. For example, we have a relationship with a stainless steel ingot producer in Asia, which although ferrous-based, is relevant as users of nickel aluminium bronze also use SS in their end-products.

It is always worth enquiring is if we can supply products that are not listed in these pages, as we trade in more metals than shown here.

Bronze and Brass

Bronze

This is also known as gunmetal and red brass. Aura can offer all specifications of copper-based alloys – from 85/5/5/5 specified to various standards (LG2, C83600, RG5, UE5, CB491K) as well as tin bronze, lead bronze (leaded brass), phosphor bronze, silicon bronze and many other standard and individually specified alloys. As the world turns to low-lead alloys, we have specialised in this area. We offer in both ingot and continuous cast billet.

Brass

Again, we can offer both standard as well as other grades, which also include manganese bronze (high strength yellow brass), and leaded yellow brass. We can also offer polishing quality material.

Aluminium Bronze

Aura supplies aluminium bronze in ingot form and we have an excellent knowledge of variations in specifications that are required for different casting applications. In fact, aluminium bronze supplied by Aura is used in production of some of the largest ship propellers in the world.

Here again, we supply to the standard specifications (such as AB2, CB333G, AlBCIn3) as well as to individual requirements, depending on the mechanical properties required.

Phosphor Copper

Phosphor copper is generally produced in three levels of phosphor content – 8, 10 and 15% – to standard specifications (JIS, ASTM, DIN, European), but we can also manufacture to individual requirements. The material comes in different forms – waffle plate, shot (granules), tablets and 8mm x 1m sticks.

We can tailor pricing mechanisms to suit individual needs as an alternative to buying on a spot price, which can be an advantage with changing market conditions. Phosphor copper is a deoxidant widely used in the copper industry and for certain aluminium alloy applications. Phosphor copper is used mainly for copper-based casting alloys, copper refining, copper tube production and the manufacture of brazing rods.

Phosphorus is used as a reactive element due to its high affinity with oxygen, yet remains stable whilst in alloy form. Production is complex for many reasons: the changing melting points of the alloy as the phosphorus level changes, the environmental controls required, and the need for a uniform phosphorus content.

Aluminium and Alloys

Aura supplies different kinds of aluminium as outlined below: From several factories we can offer all the main grades of secondary aluminium alloys, produced in ingot form, from the standard specifications such as ADC12 or DIN226 to higher grade alloys such as piston alloys like LM13.

We also supply primary aluminium ingot, which can be registered LME material or non-branded if required. Aura can also offer aluminium pre-alloys and hardeners. Depending on the type required these materials are also supplied in waffle plates and tablets.

We work directly with a Chinese producer of AlSi 50/50 ingot, and welcome enquiries for this. Furthermore we can offer aluminium powder, through our Korean office, for brazing and other applications.

Master Alloys

Copper-based

In addition to phosphor copper, Aura offers various copper master alloys. From standard to complex alloys we can always offer from different producers around the world.

Aura, can offer the majority of standard DIN specifications, such as copper titanium with 30% Ti content or CuFe20, but we can also develop alloys specifically for a customer's particular requirements and we welcome more specific enquiries for alloys such as copper sulphur. We source these alloys world-wide, depending on the alloy, as well as selling these alloys to all continents.

Aluminium-based

We also supply both aluminium master alloys and pre alloys and have an excellent relationship with a first-class European producer and manufacturer in South Korea. Again, we can offer specific grades - whether the analysis requires the alloys to be produced from primary or secondary-based aluminium.

Phosphor tin, Phosphor nickel

We can also offer 5% phosphor tin, which is used in production of high-grade solders as well as phosphor nickel.

Scrap

Aura has strategic partners around the world from whom we supply standard ISRI grades, such as Ocean, Honey, Birch/Cliff as well as more interesting materials that can’t always find a home.

Due to one of our main businesses being copper alloys, we also have very good buyers for copper tin (phosphor bronze) scraps as well as foundry grade gunmetal/Ebony.

We’re also particularly interested in cupro-nickel scrap in any form as well as stainless steel scrap.

If you have an unusual parcel or a regular arising of scrap, our spread of agents and their local knowledge can find homes for otherwise difficult material.

Magnesium and Alloys

Working with a reliable Chinese producer, Aura can offer clean, acid washed, oxide-free magnesium 99.9% min Mg ingot (c. 7kgs). Wrapped with plastic film, bundled with zinc coated steel strapping on Mg pallets weighing about 1.25MTs each; of course the bundles are suitable for fork lift truck handling. We can supply for all applications, including aluminium and mag alloy production. We can get material FOB within ten days to two weeks.

Aura can also offer magnesium alloys, in ingot form, from three established producers in Asia. Alloys for all applications including electronic components, car parts and extrusion can be supplied. The typical grades offered are are AZ91D, AZ63, AM60B, AM50A, AZ31B and AZ91HP.

We can also supply de-sulph powder and granules both passivated and not passivated directly from China for ferrous applications.

In addition, we can supply magnesium anodes for cathodic protection, both cast and extruded, again from China.

Zinc Alloys

Aura can offer zinc alloys of the Zamak range, such as Zamak 3 (JIS ZDC2), produced in South Korea from primary zinc, for all die casting applications. We can also offer the less used alloys with higher aluminium content, such as ZA-8, ZA-12 and ZA-27 and high copper alloys too.

In addition to the die casting alloys, we can offer ZnAl10 and ZnAl15, for use in the coating market.

Other Metals

Due to our breadth of knowledge world-wide, Aura does spot business in those areas not directly related to our core business, but where synergies or advantageous knowledge of a market can aid a business.

We also supply primary copper, tin, zinc, lead and aluminium and, through our ability to hedge, can offer a variety of pricing possibilities.

If you need refined lead 99.97% min, we are normally competitive and supply battery makers.

Aura offers various minor metals; for example, we have especially good sources of indium. We can also offer CuBe rod (C17200, C17300).

We also supply some of the large steel-works with ferro-alloys. We can be very competitive where larger volume is required and we can ship straight from the factory producing the material.
